Title: (Sr) Tax Manager – Hybrid Work Schedule (3 day’s office/2 day’s home)
Summary:
Tax Manager will be responsible for all corporate tax reporting, compliance work, property tax, and sales & use tax. You will be the liaison with multiple stakeholders, including senior management, peers, and external tax service providers. You will also be responsible for technical tax accounting, research, and analysis to provide management with timely information for critical decision-making. This position entails a significant amount of coordination between various groups. A successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, along with the ability to work under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment. Analytical skills are a must along with a proficiency in synthesizing large quantities of data using Excel or similar tools.
Responsibilities:
- Leads and support monthly, quarterly and annual tax reporting closing process
- Prepare and file Annual Tax Compliance documentation to all relevant tax authorities
- Oversee tax matters related to partnerships, including handling partnership allocations and ensuring compliance with partnership agreements
- Develop strong working relationships with senior management and other functions
- Develop and implement opportunities for process standardization and improvement in tax procedures
- Stay up-to-date with tax laws and regulations that impact the business and make recommendations accordingly
- Supervise tax audits, litigations and communications with tax authorities, courts and external advisors
- Ensure adherence to transfer pricing rules and regulations
- Coordinate and mange internal relationships and third-party partners regarding accounting, legal, regulator, and tax
- Manage sales and use tax, property tax and miscellaneous reporting requirements
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required, Master’s degree preferred
- CPA required
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate tax environment
- Minimum three (3) years of Big 4 public accounting preferred
- REIT, real estate, or/and partnership tax experience preferred
- Strong understanding of FAS 109 and U.S. GAAP reporting for income taxes
- Strong project management experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
